Whole30 Day 5
I’ve made it day 5 of the Whole30! I got on the scale today. I know I wasn’t supposed to but I just had to see if I had lost any weight.
I’ve lost 7 pounds in five days on the Whole30!! I know it’s water weight and if I were to eat anything with sugar it would come back in spades but I’ll take it. It’s great motivation for me to stay on the Whole30.
I don’t plan on weighing myself everyday but a little feedback can go a long way.
Other than that I am feeling pretty good. I’ve been getting at least 10,000 steps each day and some days a whole lot more. It’s so much easier now that the weather is warm and I don’t have to walk at the mall. Yard work is a great way to get in extra steps and it feels wonderful to be outside playing in the dirt.
I’m looking forward to getting new clothes. I think that is one of the biggest reasons I’ve finally taken losing weight seriously. I’m sick of wearing clothing that has little shape and what shape it does have is lumpy.
Spring is here and while I know I won’t be bikini ready I would like to feel okay in a pair of shorts and a t-shirt. If I keep losing weight at this rate (I know I won’t but it’s nice to dream) I will be down nearly 30 pounds by Memorial Day.
If you’d like to try the Whole30 you should start with the book The Whole30: The 30-Day Guide to Total Health and Food Freedom. It’s an easy read, a fun read and it has some great recipes and tips for staying on track. It also has a great tone, at least for me. I appreciated the tough love sort of narration. I know I’m fat, there isn’t any point in pretending otherwise and I got here because I ate too much and didn’t move enough. I have a thyroid disorder but it’s been controlled with medication for nearly 30 years, it doesn’t make a good excuse. I also know my bones are not big.
